Blake Bortles Should Be Avoided At All Costs

Another offseason and another lofty prediction regarding the Jacksonville Jaguars, although the expectations are tempered.

ESPN’s Mike Clay is saying that the Jags, yes the Jaguars, are a darkhorse playoff contender.

And as crazy as that may sound considering how disappointing the Jags have been when the bar is set high for them, it can happen if Blake Bortles isn’t their starting quarterback.

Bortles has struggled with accuracy and turnovers all camp and is coming off a down-year in which his overall game seemed to regress.

The advice here is to avoid drafting Bortles at all unless it is at the bottom of your draft.

Jacksonville seems ready to pull the plug should Bortles struggle early and if that seems like it could be on the horizon, watch Colin Kapernick in your free agency pool.

The Jags may be desperate enough to give Kapernick a ring should Bortles continue on his downward spiral.
