The Los Angeles Rams haven’t been known for possessing offensive potency in the past few seasons.
They thought they had a home run hitting running back after the breakout season posted by Todd Gurley during his rookie year only to see Gurley struggle mightily in 2016.
The team also thought they had a potential top flight quarterback when they drafted Jared Goff with the #1 overall pick in the 2016 draft only to see him look lost more often than not when on the field.
But this year, under a brand new regime, the arrows seem to be pointing upward for quarterback Jared Goff and his preseason performances are echoing that sentiment.
On Saturday night Goff again showed improvement, throwing 16 of 20 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown against the Oakland Raiders.
Goff also has a new weapon in wide receiver Sammy Watkins that will only boost his potential fantasy value.
“My experience up to this point with Goff is that he’s showing me that he’s nothing but a mentally tough guy,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said. “He has great resilience and the ability to respond when things don’t work out.”
Goff was sharp in the Rams preseason game against the Cowboys, going 3 for 4 and 34 yards leading the Rams on a scoring drive.
The arrow is pointing upward and Jared Goff’s fantasy value is at the forefront.
